Community Markets hosted a 90 Second Shopping Spree

On January 4th, one lucky customer had 90 seconds to grab as many groceries as possible from the Wapakoneta Community Markets on Defiance St. Wapakoneta Choral Music Society (WCMS) has been working tirelessly over the past several weeks to sell tickets provided by Community Markets at no charge.

Once all tickets were sold, one lucky winner was drawn to run the supermarket in what can only be described as a “feeding frenzy”. The lucky winner was Christina Kiefer. Christina has two children in high school that are both members of WCMS. Her winnings from the shopping spree totaled $12.50. Christina only grabbed one roll of city trash bags because she did not want to take away from the fundraising efforts. WCMS was able to raise an astonishing $2042.50. Any non-profit organization can have their own shopping spree to raise money, according to Eric Anderson, Executive Vice President, ³Your Community Market¹ is not a slogan, it¹s our philosophy for doing business.

Being able to help out a great non-profit organization like the Wapakoneta Choral Music Society is just one of the many ways we give back to the community we serve.² The Community Markets store is located at 805 Defiance St. Wapakoneta, Ohio.

Great Scot Community Markets & Miller Poultry Partner to Help Local Food Pantries

Great Scot Community Markets partnered with Miller Poultry on Friday, January 7, to donate 6000 pounds of chicken to three local food banks in the area. This donation will allow the food pantries to supply over 12,000 meals to local community members in need. Great Scot Community Markets in North Baltimore, Fostoria & Findlay have selected one local food pantry in each community to be the beneficiary of a portion of this chicken. The food pantries are:

Fostoria – The American Red Cross Fostoria Food Pantry

Findlay – Chopin Hall

North Baltimore – North Baltimore Food Pantry

This practice was driven and approved by the owner of Miller Poultry, Galen Miller. He had a strong desire to share and provide to those in need. “This is a time to give back to the communities that support us all year long” stated Miller.

The presentation of the chicken to the local food banks took place on Friday, January 7, 10:00 A.M. at Great Scot Community Markets, 2021 Broad Ave. Findlay.

New Carlisle Community Markets Shopping Spree Frenzy!

On December 28th, The New Carlisle Community Markets will be hosting a 90-second customer shopping spree. The event will benefit Bethel Church United Food Pantry.

Bethel Church United Food Pantry. has been working tirelessly over the past several weeks to sell tickets provided by Community Markets at no charge. Once all tickets were sold, one lucky winner was drawn to run the supermarket in what
can only be described as a “feeding frenzy”. It is expected that Bethel Church United Food Pantry will raise an estimated $450 for their efforts.

Tena Evans joins Fresh Encounter

Tena Evans has been named director of bakery and deli operations for Fresh Encounter’s 31-store grocery operation.

Evans will oversee all functions of the bakery and deli operations, including personnel, procurement, merchandising and sales.

She is a native of Traverse City, Mich., and was formerly director of bakery and deli operations for Tom’s Supermarkets. She has nearly 30 years of grocery experience.

Based in Findlay, Fresh Encounter is Ohio’s largest independent grocery retailer. It operates 31 outlets in Ohio and Indiana.

Great Scot Community Markets hosts 90 Second Shopping Spree

On Tuesday, August 17, one lucky customer had 90 seconds to grab as many groceries as possible from the Wapakoneta Community Markets on Defiance St. God’s Storehouse sold raffle tickets for the shopping spree to raise funds purchase food and non-food items to be distributed to their clients. The lucky winner was Itzel Strawn Itzel winnings from the shopping spree totaled an impressive $221.80. God’s Storehouse was chosen as this years sponsored shopping spree by Community Markets, meaning God’s Storehouse was able to keep the $503.00 they raised to help the community. Any non-profit organization can have their own shopping spree to raise money, according to Eric Anderson, Executive Vice President, “Your Community Market’ is not a slogan, it’s our philosophy for doing business. Being able to help out a great non-profit organization like Liberty Benton Football Parents is just one of the many ways we give back to the community we serve.” The Community Markets store is located at 805 Defiance Street Wapakoneta, Ohio and is open 7 days a week from 6am – 1am

Ray Roberts Receives C.W. Cheek Service Award Fresh Encounter’s Highest Honor Goes to Local Store Manager Findlay, OH: Ray Roberts of the Community Markets grocery in Greenfield received the C.W. Cheek Award for his hard work and dedication to the customer and community he serves. Named after the supermarket’s founder Carroll Cheek, the recognition award has been given to outstanding employees of the Fresh Encounter, Inc. family of employees. Ray Roberts is current employed as the store manager at the Community Markets store, and was chosen from over 1,200 eligible applicants.
